As a fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I abide by the IACP Code of Ethics and Professional Practice. This requires me to confidentially present my work in clinical supervision where client anonymity is maintained. The aim of this is to ensure the quality and safety of therapy. I am a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).
Please feel free to call Graham or text 087-1877977 - you can also reach out by email: [email protected] Dublin Counselling Rathfarnham If you need to cancel your appointment, a charge may be applied for cancellations notified less than 48 hours prior to your appointment. In cases of illness or emergency, please let me know as soon as possible.
To finish counselling, please give at least two sessions notice. This is to allow some time to resolve any conflicts or unfinished issues, and to end the therapy safely. Please feel free to call Graham or text 087-1877977 - you can also reach out by email: [email protected] Dublin Counselling Rathfarnham All counselling sessions are confidential in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). There are however some limits to confidentiality. These include:
A disclosure of abuse involving a minor (under 18 years) or if any other child protection issue emerges. This can include if a child has been or is being harmed, or is at risk of being harmed. Or, in the counsellors assessment, if the client is a danger to self or others or the counsellor. Where it is considered necessary to break confidentiality, the counsellor will ideally do this with the full knowledge of the client. Breaking confidentiality usually means that the counsellor will anonymously discuss the issue with his supervisor to agree a way forward. Please feel free to call Graham or text 087-1877977 - you can also reach out by email: [email protected] Dublin Counselling Rathfarnham Each therapy session lasts for about 50 minutes. The number of sessions required will depend on your individual needs and the complexity of the issues disclosed. That said, in general I would recommend a minimum of six weekly sessions of counselling to benefit from the process. Together we can review the process every five or six sessions.
